Accredited Courses
Currently the AIOH has three accredited post graduate university courses delivering Masters Programs in Occupational Hygiene.
Edith Cowan University: Master of Occupational Hygiene and Toxicology
Edith Cowan University: Master of Occupational Hygiene and Toxicology (2012 and later graduates)
Aims to develop professionals in the field of occupational and environmental hygiene. In particular, this coursework Masters aims to develop the skills of identification, evaluation and control of workplace hazards that may adversely impact on the health of workers and/or the local community.
University of Wollongong: Masters of Occupational Hygiene
The Master of Occupational Hygiene uses science and engineering to measure the extent of worker exposure to physical, chemical and biological workplace hazards.
Using science and engineering you will design and implement appropriate control strategies to prevent ill health caused by the working environment.
The Master of Occupational Hygiene will provide you with an intensive professional program of study in the area of occupational health and safety. It will equip you to anticipate, recognise, evaluate and control the risks from workplace physical, chemical and biological hazards; and communicate these to employers and employees to promote improved working conditions and practices.
RMIT University: Masters of Occupational Health and Safety
RMIT University: Masters of Occupational Health and Safety (major in Occupational Hygiene)
The Master in OHS builds on your learning from the Graduate Diploma in OHS and provides you with the opportunity to undertake:
- a substantial research activity, allowing you to reflect on OHS theory and practice
- specialist occupational hygiene courses in addition to an occupational hygiene research project - this minor is suitable for students wanting to become occupational hygiene specialists
- courses from the RMIT MBA program in addition to an OHS management implementation project - this option is suitable for students looking to move into OHS management roles
